CAP'S BIRTHDAY WEEK
Seven nights in heaven: three in Big Geiger, three in Cat Harbor and one at Willow. Our start was a little rocky. The crossing from Dana wasn't the most pleasant, anchoring at Big Geiger didn't go smoothly and smashing my toe on a deck fitting was the coup de grace. But it only got better from there. We were the only ones in BG for two nights, Cat Harbor was almost empty and we had Willow to ourselves. The Admiral planned a week of scrumptious meals, the weather was perfect and the water has finally warmed up. Turning 75 wasn't all that bad, in fact it was awesome. Thank you and Bravo Zulu to the Admiral for making it happen.

CEDAR GROVE KINGS CANYON
After a rockslide closed the road in April and bumped us out of the Sentinel Campground, we rescheduled for opening day in May at Sheep Creek. We were literally the first ones in the camp for this season and settled in at #64, an expansive site on the south fork of the Kings River. Ten glorious days and nights, totally self-contained and disconnected from the outside world, we enjoyed the wonderful weather and natural beauty of the Sierra. Definitely a FIVE STAR get-a-way.
