As the title of this entry suggests, our 6th trip this year to Catalina was as good as they get. The weather, the water, the clouds, the hikes, the fishing, the food...all good. On the way over to Avalon we were treated to dolphins, a whale, birds and some feeding sharks. The island city is definitely slowing down after its' busy summer season and our six nights and seven days there were la perfeccion.

HUMPBACK SURPRISE
Captain Cabo and Senora Debi joined us on a beautiful Saturday for an afternoon sail. It turned into the best whale watching day we've had in years. Two humpbacks, one adult and a calf, were putting on an impromptu aerial show. The adult was breaching non-stop and slapping its' fins as the whales frolicked off Dana Point. It was quite an impressive and unexpected sight.
