RIP MARK INCOGNITO

                                                         A FEW YEARS AGO

One of the coolest guys on the planet checked out recently but left behind many great memories and stories for all of his many friends, family and acquaintances. Annie, his significant other, celebrated his life this last weekend in Minden Nevada with a gathering of close friends and family. It was a beautiful tribute for a beautiful soul.

GUESS WHOS 77th BIRTHDAY WE CELEBRATED?

The birthday boy got to pick the restaurant and persuaded the crew to go for the "30". They call it the "30" because it is thirty inches long and it's the very best pizza on the planet. Great night, great friends, great food. Seventy-seven and counting!

ON THE WAY TO CEDAR GROVE

Two winters ago, Hwy 180, the road to Road's End in Cedar Grove was closed due to multiple land slides and wash-outs. CalTrans has done a fabulous job repairing the highway. We were able to drive three miles from our favorite campground Sentinel in Cedar Grove before reaching a "Road Closed" sign. From there we hiked in to Sentinel and were blown away by the condition of the campground. No one there for two years has taken its toll but the beauty of the canyon, the sounds, the smells and the roaring Kings River, more than made up for our disappointment.

Our plan was to stay in the Hume Lake Campground but after seeing our selected site decided to move on to Princess Campground. It turned out to be a wise decision. Matt and Laura joined us for a day, driving from Anaheim Hills and back in one day. Truly a marathon day for them but they left recharged from the stunning beauty of the mountains.
