Palm Desert Marriott

We were lucky with the weather as the desert can heat up around this time of year. We enjoyed four restful nights there, toured Joshua Tree National Park, gambled at the Agua Caliente Casino, met friends for lunch one day and Matt and Laura for dinner on another. Very nice get-a-way.

FARCLE THURSDAY

We took our time getting out of the slip because of the fog. Our skipper likes to see where he's going during a race. Visibility was sketchy at the start but it turned into a beautiful day mid-course. And our second place finish put smiles on everyones faces.

   

            We got within 2 boat lengths of the winner. The red buoy is the finish.

TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME

 

Met two former DHHS baseball players, Steve Miklos and Greg Thomason, at a girls softball game recently. Steve is the head coach for the girls team at Orange Lutheran and he has amassed almost 600 career wins at that school. Both of them played on our 1974 championship baseball team at Dana. By the way, Orange won 2-1 in 12 innings!
