The Admiral and I have been making the most of the nice summer sailing conditions. Last Sunday we had lunch on board then headed out of the harbor for a mellow sail, until the wind died. Oh well, that happens sometimes. Then on Tuesday we were off to Newport Harbor for a two-night midweek trip. We anchored off Lido Island three hours after leaving Dana. The anchorage was almost deserted. Our mornings were overcast but around noon the sun would brake through for very pleasant afternoons. The local yacht clubs had youngsters of all ages involved in sailboat races, in and around the anchorage, and their skill level is remarkable. Quite a spectacle to watch. We met our very good friends, Matt and Laura, for breakfast at Charlie's Chili the morning of our return. Good time, good eats, good trip.
